Influenza A H1n1 in Malaysia started at May to June 2009. It has been more than 50 cases in Malaysia from it first discovered in this country until 21 June 2009.
Before 2 August 2009, 5 Malaysia citizen had died because of this disease.

It has been predicted by the David KL Quek, Malaysian medical president that 5,500 to 28,000 citizen of Malaysia will die because of this disease if 20 % from 27.7 million people citizen of this country affected by the virus. The death rate of Malaysian citizen rise from 0.4 % to 0.66 %.

What can we do in preventing these??

- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also helpful

- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.

- Consult your nearest healthcare facility if you think you have any of the symptoms.

- Try to avoid close contact with sick people. - If you get sick with influenza, stay at home and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

- Covering your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or handkerchief when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the waste basket after you use it.
